AITrust

A browser extension and framework for AI content detection, positioned as a transparency tool rather than a gatekeeping mechanism.

Overview

AITrust is a browser extension that helps users identify AI-generated content across the web. Unlike tools that aim to block or penalize AI content, AITrust is designed as a transparency layer — giving readers the information they need to make their own judgments about what they’re reading.

Built for readers who want transparency about content origins, publishers interested in content authenticity, and anyone navigating the evolving landscape of AI-generated media.

The project explores how trust and verification can coexist with the growing presence of AI in content creation, without taking a punitive stance against AI-assisted work.

Current Status

AITrust is in the research and framework development phase. Key evaluation criteria have been identified and the detection methodology is under development. The browser extension concept has been validated.

Next steps involve finalizing the detection framework and beginning pilot testing.
